Hirsutism: A condition that causes excessive growth of hairs on females body due to the increase in secretion of Androgen hormone, premenopause or disorder in the ovaries. Hirsutism results in excessive amounts of stiff and pigmented hair on body areas where men typically grow hair, including the face, chest and back. When high androgen levels cause hirsutism, other signs might develop over time, a process called virilization.
