SHOCKING- Angry Husband Beats Wife To Death Over An Argument After She Brought A Carpenter To Their Home
Residents, sympathizers, and mourners in Sabon Pegi— Shubu, Lafia North Development Area, Nasarawa State, were overcome with grief and tears on Friday afternoon when a mother of three children was beaten to death following an altercation between her and her husband.
The fight reportedly began when the housewife, late Mrs. Esther Aya, hired a carpenter to replace the windows net in their family home to keep mosquitoes out, but the husband ordered the carpenter to cease working, angering the late housewife.
On the condition of anonymity, a guy claiming to be the carpenter stated that when he attempted to repair the window net, late Esthers' husband chased him away.
Mrs. Esther Aya, a teacher at the Government Secondary School in Doka, a community in the Lafia North Development Area, became entangled in a family feud with her husband over the ownership of the home they shared in Sabo Pegi, which escalated into a legal battle.
According to their neighbors, the dead appeared dejected and fragile till her untimely death due to the frustration she had experienced at the hands of her husband.
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of Ovye Yakubu, the deceased' s husband, in the Sabon Pegi- Shabu community of Lafia for allegedly killing his wife, Esther Aya.
ASP Ramhan Nansel, the state' s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the arrest in an interview Saturday in Lafia, saying the suspect was arrested on Friday after the police received a report of an incident that occurred as a result of an argument and disagreement.
The woman' s body has been lodged at the morgue for Post Mortem testing, according to a police spokesperson who added that an inquiry was proceeding at the State Criminal Investigation Department Lafia to solve the enigma surrounding the occurrence.
