TERRIBLE! ! ! How Four Uniport Students Were Tortured To Death For A Crime They Didn't Commit
The terrible incident of this four Uniport Students which happened nine years ago is still fresh in the minds of the people and it will never be forgotten in the history of the university.
This four University Students were Tortured and finally burnt to death by indigenes of the community were their school was located because of a crime they didn't commit.
The poor innocent and handsome young men were brutally killed after the were accused of stealing phones and laptops which they never did.
The entire University community were on the run after the students rebuked the wicked act done by the residents of the community and decided to revenge the death of this students.
police detectives on Sunday morning after the wicked incident decided to storm Ikwerre Local Government Area, the community wee this poor the students were brutally beaten to death and set ablaze by the community people. Journalist who reported that both the beating and the burning of the students were recorded and the film clip was circulated all over the media.
Also caught by police operatives were members of Walewa' s family and some students of the institution, who stayed off campus.
Reports had it that the community was totally empty when police agents and soldiers attacked the area in search of those who murdered the students on Friday. The brutally killed students were identified as Lloyd, Tekena, Ugonna and Chidiaka. Those who brunt the students reportedly accused them of stealing laptops and phones which investigations showed that the never did.
While talking with newsmen on Sunday, after the sad incident the past President of the University Students Union government, Mr. Rhino Owhorkire, expressed total shock that some students living within the community were also arrested by policemen.
He explained that though the arrest of some members of the community was a good one, the arrest of the students living in the community was not necessary and they should be released.
He condemned the wicked killing of the students, saying that the people have hamded them over to the police instead of killing them.
The entire country condemned the killing of the students and were seeking for justice on daily basis for the students.
Some Issues Which Made The Case So Conflicted
Meanwhile, there were conflicting issues and reprots on how the students were murdered. While some people said that they were robbers, others said they students were members of a notorious cult group. Their friends said they were all innocent people. Most of these arguments were made on the Internet, especially the social media, where the students of the university and loved ones also expressed themselves and sadness over the brutal killing of these boys.
On Nairaland, a popular online discussion forum, some of the posters who claimed to be indigenes of the community where the incident took place said that the students were all robbers. They claimed that the students were members of a cult group, that had been making life unbearable for the people living in the community for a long time.
Some people also said that the students were seen in one building in the community with laptops and phones and they had to alert the vigilante group in the village who led people to the building to catch and with the students.
All the complecated issues that arise after they death of this students was seriously uncalled for.
They were brutally killed for the crime they never committed that was the main issue.

Since the students death There have been so many reactions on social media since the terrible incident took place on Friday afternoon. The majority of people who spoke on different ocassions insisted that the students shouldn' t have been set ablaze but handed over to the police for interrogations.
Mrs Jennifer Okafor, a blogger on Information Nigeria, said, " God will judge those that did that to them. Why didn' t they take them to the police? Ask those that killed those boys whether they have not stolen anything in their lives. The sins of those boys will be on the heads of those that killed them. "
Mr Francis Obiagwu, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, also wrote on the blog, , " People should have just beaten them and let them go or got them arrested by the police, rather than killing them. The people that killed them should be punished for taking the law into their hands" .
While Dejo Olowu said, " We see all these extreme outbursts of mob justice, jungle justice, anger and venom in Nigeria, yet, some of us will still argue this has nothing to do with government or with leadership. It is a trickle- down effect, a consequence of our collective psychosis. "
The death of this students will never be forgotten in the minds of their families and the entire university system.
