Talentina, a 22- year- old woman from Zimbabwe' s Featherstone district, applied to the Chivhu Magistrates Court last week to have two counts of rapè against a man named William Jkiki, who ràped her twice, dismissed, claiming that they were now in love.
Jkiki, 38, was let free after Magistrate Fadzai Mutombeni dismissed the case after the plea, according to a report by Tell Zim.
Talentina stated that she had fallen in love with the alleged defiler after the ràpe incidents because they had engaged in consensual sexuàl intercoursè on multiple other times and had sought one other for forgiveness. Jkiki was said to have arrived at Talentina' s homestead at 15: 00 hours with his young siblings and pledged love to her, but she declined, claiming she was married.
Later that day, Jkiki returned to find the complaint asleep with the door unlocked since her husband, Billa, had not yet returned from a football match.
Before heading to her bed, where he allegedly rapèd her once, he proceeded to pester the complainant about his love proposition once again.
Jkiki approached Talentina again at 19: 00 in her kitchen hut, where she was preparing supper and her husband was out drinking beer.
He then snatched her shoulders and dragged her to the back of the kitchen door, where he ràped her. The complainant waited until early March 2022 to tell her husband about the ràpe ordeals after realizing that her husband' s friend, Ozias Dzaramba, had failed to inform him as she had requested.
